fic; summerstorm - jonghoon/hongki

please consider this as a long drabble.

Hongki (who doesn’t need to ask because, for him, it’s enough to smile stooping slightly his head – in a imperceptible way for everybody but Jonghoon, who always notices the small things and, more important, loves them – looking at his speaker with those eyes that say please, or that, maybe – Jonghoon is still not sure – are just making fun of you) opens his mouth, o-shaped, and when he is sure Jonghoon is looking at him, he asks impatiently “So?” (adding to his request, as a luxurious extra, a soft and delicate pout).

“You realize it’s a huge stuffed bunny, don’t you?” Jonghoon asks, instead, after turning around to look at it, raising his left eyebrow.

The stuffed bunny (Jonghoon doesn’t know it yet, but in a few hours it – he? – will be official baptized ‘Mr. JoongHon-and-not-JongHoon’ with lots of champagne – not that Jonghoon was sure baptisms implied the use of champagne and beer, but it didn’t really matter. It was, in fact, a great excuse for those kisses, a little bit too much similar to those lovers give each other, that they were used to by now; their arms on each other’s waist, their tongues in each other’s mouth, their eyes half-closed – so that, when they open them, they can always tell they were thinking of somebody else, knowing that the lie would never become truth – until everything looses its meaning) looks at him with a macabre smile, challenging Jonghoon to buy him.

“Isn’t he simply WONDERFUL?” Hongki asks, putting the hand on Jonghoon’s back.

“No.” Jonghoon, who keep repeating to himself that is not going to surrender just because of the touch of Hongki’s expert hand or those lips that continue to tease him unperturbed (and Hongki’s eyes; Oh, those eyes – they will be the reason of his death, Jonghoon was sure), answers.

“Come on! Buy it for meee! Please?” Hongki begs again, pinching Jonghoon who doesn’t bother answering him, and wonders what is the best way to make him shut –the fuck- up.

“Buyitbuyitbuyitbuyitbuyitbuyit!” He says, almost singing a little child’s song, accompanying every ‘buy’ with another really annoying pinch.

“Only if you give me half of the money when we’re back to the hotel.” Jonghoon finally gives up, exhausted.

Hongki thinks about it for a few seconds (his tongue licking his lower lip) and then he says “Okay, then”, before asking to the shopper to give him the stuffed bunny, for which purchase half of the money spent will never be given to Jonghoon again (it didn’t really matter anyway), but Hongki’s kisses on his neck at night will the perfect reward.

inspired by the movie “manuale d’amore” with carlo verdone and silvio muccino.

l’innamoramento– Hernan believes in football, he believes in ‘law & order: criminal intent’, he believes the moon in the well is true, and he believes also that there is no such a thing as the day in which spring starts; springs starts when the clouds become a little bit more soft, a little bit more light, a little bit more thin until his daughter, looking at the sky, says “dad, look! Cotton candy!” and when his wife explains her it’s only air (it’s nothing, you can’t touch it, you can’t taste it – you have to grow up), Hernan would like to touch them, just to be sure.

Hernan wants to believe that clouds are cotton candy (he dislikes the idea of the moon being made of cheese, though – and so does his daughter. She says that, if it was made of cheese, it would make it terrible to go there because “cheese stinks, daddy!”).

In the same way, Hernan doesn’t think there is a moment in which you fall hopelessly in love; at the beginning you feel soft, light, happy, safe, alive – and when finally waking up in the morning tastes like his name (Esteban) it means you are in love.

But if he had to choose a moment, just one to keep locked in his memory forever, he would choose that missed penalty, that demonstration of such a candid weakness, so childish that Hernan had nothing to do beside hugging him, praying with him that “everything will be fine, mi amor.”

(“Nico, when you see Cuchu could you please kiss him for me? Here, on the left cheek.”

“Here?”

“My left side.”

“Oh. Here?” Hernan nods.

Nicolas hesitates, stopping in front of Esteban. “It’s from Hernan,” he says, kissing him fast on his cheek.)

la crisi – and the beginning it’s just about little doubts (he doesn’t smile like before, he doesn’t talk like before, he doesn’t touch like before, he doesn’t look like before), then it’s not sleeping at night and at the end it’s a painful truth: ‘we are slowly falling apart’.

Hernan thinks it’s better to end it immediately, to go to Cuchu and tell him “enough” and to let Cristian cure him, hug him, tell him “everything will be fine, amor” (and it will sound so different) – making Cuchu’s perfume become an other one’s, deleting his smile, his taste.

But telling him “enough” is too difficult (now), because he keeps remembering, together with those moments in which he felt he would do nothing to make things better, the memories of days that tasted like cotton candy and that Hernan promised not to forget.

(“You wanna see a movie? What about ‘la vita è bella’?”

“Again?” Cuchu pouts. “We could go to Javi’s.”

Hernan doesn’t want to, but being there, alone with Cuchu, without knowing what to do feels claustrophobic so he renounces “Okay, I’m driving.”)

il tradimento – Cuchu doesn’t even try to tell himself he doesn’t want to, because he knows it’s a lie. So he prefers to think it will make things better, it will make him understand again what Hernan used to mean, it will make him remember why Javier used to mock him because “you eyes are shining! God – you are becoming a schoolgirl! Damn Valdanito!”, why he told Hernan once “para siempre” and now all he wants is to break that promise.

But he can’t remember that feeling (of cotton candy?); the only thing he can think about, or feel, or breath is Julio and how he looks at him (and he could never see in Julio’s eyes Hernan’s), how he kisses him, how it feels to touch his body still sweaty when he sleeps in their bed (a feeling of summer and of being lost boys).

He wishes he could think, when Julio is inside of him, of Hernan – but the truth is he can’t think of anything anymore.

(“I can’t do this.” He whispers. “I love him.”

“We both know it’s not true.”

Esteban would like to tell him “no, I do love him and this is wrong” but he decided it’s time to stop telling lies.)

l’abbandono – what for Cuchu is the hardest paradox is having to ask Julio “how do I tell him?”, praying he would find an answer, even if he thinks there is no way to make it lees painful (and also because, he is sure by now, Hernan knows already – and it’s Julio’s fault and the way he doesn’t want to hide, the way they look at each other when they train together, eat together, play together – and the way Cuchu doesn’t look at Hernan when their hands and their bodies brush against each other, and of course, how could he ever forget; the way Julio kisses him on the cheek in front of everybody. Cuchu knows it’s been an humiliation for Hernan to act like he didn’t notice, and it makes him feel wrong, even if Julio asked him not to feel guilty about them – he doesn’t, he feel guilty for what he did do Hernan-).

Julio smiles, bitterly. “I don’t know.”

(“Hernan, I-“ but he doesn’t find the strength to go on.

“I don’t deserve this.”

“I know. Please, forgive me.”)

i. sometimes – when they’re sure nobody can see them – Luca and Ivan walk holding hands, and when Luca feels Ivan’s fingers caressing the back of his hand, when he feel the body next to him a little bit closer, when he feels he will remember this moment for a long time (and when he fears this is all he will remember of trainings, games, parties, girls -);

“I have a girlfriend.” Luca says.

“I have a girlfriend, too.” Ivan lies.

sometimes – when they’re sure nobody can hear them – Luca and Ivan tell each other secrets.

“I love you.” Luca says.

“I love you, too.” Ivan lies.

ii. sometimes – when Francesco’s girlfriend is shopping, or studying or just doesn’t want to talk with him – he calls Ivan and they talk. It doesn’t matter if they talk about football, about movies, about (not going to) school or about books (even if Francesco prefers the latter; Ivan doesn’t tell him ‘Oscar Wilde is boring’, or ‘Tolkien is for nerds’ or ‘Who the fuck is Harry Potter?’ - Ivan listens.)

“The best way to be remembered is writing a book.” Francesco thinks.

“The best way to be remembered is loving somebody.” Ivan corrects him.

sometimes – but only when Francesco’s girlfriend is not there – he wishes he could spend more time with Ivan.

iii. sometimes Luca asks Francesco to help him study biology – when he’s sure that his teacher will test him (and when he is, therefore, sure he will have no idea what the lesson is about), he sends him a text message, usually something like “plz save me! BIOLOGY WANTS 2 KILL ME! luca.” and half an hour after Francesco is already there.

“I’m so fucked up.” Luca is sure.

“You’re just lazy.” Francesco hopes.

sometimes – even if he’s not sure that his teacher will test him, he sends Francesco a text message, usually something like “I want 2 kick your ass at psp. Luca” and half an hours after Francesco is already there.

mario balotelli/francesco bolzoni;

iv. sometimes Francesco – when he is completely, absolutely sick of him - tells Mario “you are such an ass” or “shut the fuck up” or “i can’t stand you” and Mario answers “fuck off, Francesco” and they just stare at each other in silence, waiting for the other one to start complaining (Francesco says Mario has no idea what a civil way of life is, and that he is sick of finding food everywhere and that he should stop throwing is clothes around. Mario says Francesco is boring.)

“Wanna see a movie, bro?” Mario asks.

“Sure!” Francesco answers.

Sometimes – when he doesn’t find the courage to ask Mario to watch a movie together (and to fall asleep in the same bed, which is the consequence) – he tells Mario “you are such an ass.”

v. sometimes – when Luca sees Mario playing with the ball (trying freekicks, usually) after training – he puts Vid’s gloves and becomes his (not-so-good) goalkeeper. When he manages to do a wonderful save he starts dancing the Macarena in front of the really disappointed Mario (every time he becomes a better dancer, he adds new moves, new lyrics to his song),

“who sucks? Mario sucks. Oh he sucks so much-ch-ch-ch” (he turns around) “ch!” Luca sings.

“who is dead? Luca’s dead. Oh he is so d-d-d-“ (he runs toward him) “dead!” Mario answers.

Sometimes – when Luca sees Mario playing with the ball (trying freekicks, usually) after training – he puts Vid’s gloves and tell him “Good luck for your next match.”

vi. sometimes – when he is bored – Mario asks Ivan go out to eat an ice-cream. Ivan hates ice-creams (he even told Mario once, but at the end he realized Mario heard only what he wanted to, from that conversation – “I really like to go out with you but –“ (I don’t like ice-creams). Like he always does.), but at the end he always accepts. But once -

“Why are you not eating your ice-cream?” Mario asks.

“I don’t like ice-creams, sorry.” Ivan apologies.

Sometimes Mario hears Ivan, and he asks him “You like pizza?”, and if Ivan says ‘yes’, he manages to perfectly hear his answer.
